Street View for KC

Google Maps is now sporting street view imagery for much of the Kansas City region.

Building outlines and models, oblique imagery, better and better streets data, 3d views, and more and more tools to interact with the data...all avaible at the touch of a button.

I'm beginning to think (beginning, becuase I'm behind the curve) that the role of many GIS Managers is going to change from implementing in-house systems to figuring out ways to get their orginization's data into the cloud so it's avaible through mainstream mapping applications like google maps and virtual earth...

Beware of the red cloud.

Fly through KC

Looks like KCMO and KCK are now covered within the latest round of imagery updates for MS Virtual Earth. View in 2d or 3d. Looks great.

15 cm color, free for viewing...not bad. The post is dated Dec. 20, I'm not yet sure what the exact flight date is.
